Crafts – Ceramics

Typical of a product of Seiji Gaisha, which created pieces for export succeeding the tradition of old Imari ware, the design is a traditional squirrel and grape motif, but shows refined western style sense in its realistic painting with gradation. It was used as an ornament in the vast Chigusa-no-ma hall in the Meiji Palace.(「Reviewing Modern Ceramics 」2021)
