On Fridays and Saturdays, the Museum opens until 8:00 p.m. (last admission 7:30 p.m.), except for Fridays July 26 and August 30.

Mondays,
year-end & New Year holidays, February 23 (The Emperor's Birthday), and during rotations. (If Monday is a holiday, the Museum will be
open on that Monday and closed on the following weekday.)

* Visiting the Museum on Fridays:
- The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, in which the Museum is located, are closed on Fridays.
- When the East Gardens are closed, including Fridays, visitors have access to the Museum through the Ote-mon Gate only.
