Set of stationery box and ink-stone box with hunting and farming design in makie
Autumn scenery is expressed on the outside of both the stationery box and the ink-stone box, autumn grasses, flowing water and waterfowls are depicted, and a scene of falconry is arranged on the ink-stone box. A scene of farming is on the back of the lid, a scene of rice reaping in autumn on the stationery box and a scene of rice planting on spring with plum trees and young pine trees are depicted. The tradition of Kaga makie can be seen in this minute expression. (「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.2」2003)
