The castle gate of Shurijo castle which was the central establishment of politics and culture of the Ryukyu Kingdom (Okinawa), where the king of Ryukyu lived until the mid 19th century. It is one of a series by Yamamoto Hosui along with no.13, and is valuable as a scene of Okinawa during this period.（「Between Seas and Mountains」2020）
