Incense burner in shape of a peacock
Incense burner in shape of a peacock
A silver incense burner in shape of a peacock presented as a gift from the eight houses of Imperial Princes such as Arisugawa-no-miya family on the occasion of the Rittaishi-rei in 1889. It comes with a large tsuishu (lacquerware with patterns carved in relief) stand. It is probably a set of Chinese taste arranged when it was presented. (「Auspicious Events of the Meiji Period」2018)
