Because this sword was a present from the Kyogoku Family in 1928, it is called Kyogoku Masamune. The blade has been whet narrow, and should have been wider originally. The surface of the blade shows Masamune' s style, and the carved inscription is genuine, making this a piece of historical value.（「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.1」2003）
