Eight sided covered jar with bird and flower design in nunome-zogan inlay
Eight sided covered jar with bird and flower design in nunome-zogan inlay
The technique of nunome inlay is applied by filing marks in patterns on the ground, filled with gold and silver foil. On the chamfered body, cherry blossom and red maple leaf patterns and water fall and carp picture patterns are arranged alternately on the tatewaku and diamond-shaped flower pattern ground. Expression of blurs such as in ink drawing shows Kashima's high skill.(「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.2」2003)
