Pair of vases with design of phoenixes in yellow glaze
Among the largest sized vases of Fujina ware, which is a special product of Shimane Prefecture featuring its yellow glaze. Tokuno Koshu, a ceramic painter born in Matsue City, Shimane prefecture, painted the phoenixes entirely with black lines. Gift from Shimane Prefecture celebrating the Enthronement Ceremonies of 1928.
