Map of the World and 28 Famous Cities

Map of the World and 28 Famous Cities

On the right screen are 8 kings and lords including the king of Persia at the upper side, and under them are scenes of 28 cities such as Portugal and Rome, etc. On the center of the left screen is a world map, with 42 people of various countries on both sides. It is an early western style painting based on the western maps brought by trade with Spain and Portugal, and Society of Jesus missionaries, and the depiction is superior compared to other similar pieces. In restoration, 4 draft sketches differing from the present state were confirmed from the right screen, which is considered to be 4 Roman Emperors.(「Passing Art works to the Future」2013)
