Illustrated Handscroll of Kitano Tenjin Engi (Legends of Kitano Tenjin Shrine)
Many pictorial scrolls were made deriving from the Kitano Tenmangu worshiping Sugawara no Michizane along with the expansion of Michizane worshiping in the middle ages. This work is grouped as one of the Koanbon, created in the first year of the Koan period, by the opening paragraph, and is superior among the group showing traditional style in its soft lines and colors.(「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.1」2003)
