Ogre God
Yamada Kisai studied old buddhist sculptures while he accompanied investigations on old temples and shrines in the Kinki region aiming for protection of cultural properties. This piece is a wooden sculpture of a powerful ogre god, making use of the results of his studies.（「A Cross Section of Meiji Art」2018）
