Sculpture – Wood Carvings
The theme is a couple of peasants drawing a stack of rice straw on a cart after harvest with "unified cooperation". It is Shinkai's representative work of the period when he tried to express daily familiar motifs in Japanese climate, in an impressionistic style differing from Rodin's style. (「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.2」2003)
