Important Cultural Property
This is an ornament depicting a figure dancing the Gagaku dance, "Ryo-o". It displays the various metalwork techniques such as gold and silver inlay and colored metals, etc. The dancer's face when the mask is removed and intricate patterns even on the hidden parts of the costume show the minute craft technique succeeded from the Edo period pursuing reality which is the feature of Meiji crafts.(「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.2」2003)
