Crafts – Ceramics
The representative celadon work of Suwa Sozan I , who was designated as Teishitsu Gigei-in ( Imperial Court Artist ) in 1917. He reproduced the refined tone of the celadon glaze studying the celadon produced at Longquan Kiln of the Chinese Southern Sung dynasty in the 13th century. The basic compositions of relief designs on both the vases and the incense burner are the same, with phoenix and cloud patterns on the body, and lotus petal patterns encircling the bases.(「Reviewing Modern Ceramics 」2021)
