Sanwa Korai ware are modern ceramics created in the Korean Peninsula, inviting Yatsushiro ware ceramicists of Kumamoto Prefecture to North Korea, in order to revive the Goryeo celadon which reached the height of prosperity in the 12th century. These pieces with phoenix and peony designs in relief, and inlaid cloud and crane designs and chrysanthemum arabesque designs, were created as a gift celebrating the enthronement of Emperor Showa.(「Reviewing Modern Ceramics 」2021)
