Important Cultural Property

11 years were spent to complete this cabinet from the ordering of the design by the Imperial Household Ministry to the Tokyo Fine Arts School (current Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music). Chrysanthemum and bird patterns by takamakie and mother of pearl inlay were arranged overall even on the reverse side of the cabinet boards. The technique and the perfection are prominent especially among the lacquer works of the Meiji era.(「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.2」2003)
