Crafts – Metalworks
The lumps of gold said to have been stored by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in the Osaka castle. Gold weighing 375 grams cast in the shape of bundo (Japanese weight ) come in five patterns, and these are three of them. One is small flowers and paulownia pattern, one is the Kichi ( good fortune ) character on a cloth pattern ground, and one is the Tei character on stone surface ground. Presented by Tokugawa Yoshiakira in 1900, they are precious articles of which only a few pieces are known other than the three hundred of the same type transferred to the Bank of Japan from the same family in 1904.
