Li Kan ( 1245~1320 ) is a literati painter, famous for mozhu ( bamboo in ink ). His detailed study about bamboos and ink colors and coloring techniques are explained in his book Zhupu Xianglu. Depicting the natural form of bamboos swaying in the breeze, this is a dated masterpiece presented by Manshoji Temple in 1880 along with 'Plum Tree' by Wang Mian.(「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.1」2003)
