Paintings – Oil Paintings

This painting by Goseda Yoshimatsu depicts Tago-no-Ura, a scenic spot with a view of Mount Fuji. The beautiful composition captures the waves lapping at the inlet, the houses at the foot of the mountain, snow-covered Mount Fuji, and the clouds below. This work is a condensation of the techniques Yoshimatsu cultivated during his ten years of study in Europe. It was commissioned by the Ministry of the Imperial Household.(「Imperial Splendor:Artworks Related to the Tohoku Region」2021)
