Crafts – Metalworks

This craftwork is a specialty of Hiroshima Prefecture, called Dochu. The patterns created when hammering a copper sheet to form the vase shape are left remaining on the surface. This surface is then fumigated with straw, and polished to create a blackish shine.(「A Cross Section of Meiji Art」2018)
