As is typical of Hashimoto Gaho, who studied with the Kano School in Edo (present-day Tokyo), this work depicts a landscape with forceful brush strokes. The different seasons are expressed in contrasting gradations of ink and color. Gaho was also one of the teachers of Yamauchi Tamon (1878–1932) from Miyakonojo in Miyazaki Prefecture.(「The Imperial Family and Miyazaki Prefecture」2021)
