This piece is considered to have been exhibited at the Tokyo Taisho Exposition in 1914, and was presented to Crown Prince Hirohito from Emperor Taisho and Empress Teimei, when he returned from his trip to Europe in 1921. It is a large piece with a dragon sleeping at the bottom of water expressed in exquisite relief by Miyagawa Kozan in his late days, who was designated as Teishitsu Gigei-in ( Imperial Court Artist ) in 1896.(「Reviewing Modern Ceramics 」2021)
