Crafts – Ceramics

The bright and clear atmosphere of spring is expressed by wild cherry blossoms carved in relief on white porcelain clay and light pink underglaze. Yellow coloring around the cherry blossoms express the cherry blossoms reflecting the morning sunlight. Seifu Yohei Ⅲ was born in the present Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. He was active in Kyoto, and became the first potter to become a Teishitsu Gigei-in ( Imperial Court Artist ) in 1893.(「Reviewing Modern Ceramics 」2021)
