Opening Hours
9:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (last admission 4:30 p.m.)
The Museum is located in the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace. Please note the following when visiting.
- Visitors must enter through the Ote-mon Gate on Fridays. The Museum is open, but the rest of the East Gardens are closed.
The calendar for the East Gardens is available on the Imperial Household Agency’s website.

Mondays, Year-End/New Year holidays, the Emperor’s Birthday, and between exhibitions
- If Monday is a holiday, the Museum will be open on Monday and closed the following non-holiday weekday.
