Sculpture – Wood Carvings

The rabbit was the zodiac sign of Empress Kojun. It was a gift presented by Kanroji Osanaga, Chief Cabinet Secretary of the Imperial Household Agency and later Chief Priest of Meiji Shrine, to commemorate the Imperial Couple’s 25th wedding anniversary. The artist, Akahori Shinpei, was a sculptor from Fukushima Prefecture.(「Imperial Splendor:Artworks Related to the Tohoku Region」2021)
