Crafts – Lacquerware

This is in the shape of eight petals modeled after the vessels in the flower petal shape from China. Combination of strong curves and many sides is the characteristic of a kanshitsu base, emphasizing the lustrous lacquered texture. (「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.2」2003)
