Paintings – Japanese / Asian Paintings

Ren Renfa ( 1254~1327 ) was an irrigation scholar and a painter specializing in horse paintings. The depiction of a horse such as in this painting wearing a beautiful saddle can also be seen in picture scrolls to accompany the emperor' s cavalry, Delicate brush strokes depicting hair such as in the mane are excellent, and the noble figure of the horse is quite realistic.(「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.1」2003)
