Crafts – Ivory/Horn/Shell Works

This is the wonderful lifework of Shofu extolled as the last master in the tortoiseshell industry of Nagasaki in the Showa era. The idea is the same as metal articulated works produced from the Edo to the Meiji period materialized in tortoiseshell, and each part of this lobster moves freely.(「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.2」2003)
